Our mission is to improve the quality of life of deprived children by ensuring their rights. To do so, we have implemented a model school in Mathagondapalli in which the latest educational models are deployed for more than 400 residential children from under-privileged backgrounds and made available for others to adopt. In addition, we – the Terre des Hommes Netherlands organization - support some 40 projects in the domain of education, health and socio-economic development.
Important is that we do not implement programs by ourselves, but look at ways to support project partners by improving their skills and capabilities and offering models they can easily copy and make useful for their local needs. This is what we call capacity building. In this way, we help the partner communities to resolve their problems by themselves and avoid placing them into an assistance mode.
