Community health care, Early Childhood Education, Vocational Training and community development for people living in 8 slums in Vyasarpadi.
The project supports 4220 families. The health care plan helps children and mothers to get safe drinking water and sanitation facilities, improves the nutritional status of mothers and children, provides health education including awareness on HIV/AIDS, ANC/PNC care, and immunization, and ensures education of the children from the slums.
Preventative and supportive strategy for support of endangered children
365 HIV/AIDS infected or affected children & 2165 HIV/AIDS infected or affected adults. Support to 87 new born babies, 118 children get education support, 160 receive health care. 940 adults receive medical care, 900 get counseling support, and 95 pregnant women receive PMTCT services along with health care. Support to 100 women for 5 SHGs, vocational training to 60 HIV+ women and IG activities for 70 families. The project is run by a medical doctor, who is one of the pioneers in care and support for HIV+ persons in India. Few HIV+ children are being supported with life prolonging drugs.
